Vedran Ćorluka (pronounced: Tcho-rluca) (born February 5, 1986) is a Croatian football defender who currently plays for English Premier League team Manchester City.

Ćorluka was born in Modran, a small village near Derventa, Bosnia and Herzegovina, then Yugoslavia, but it was officially said he was born in Doboj because his village Modran was closer to Doboj Hospital. He started to play football in Dinamo Zagreb's youth teams when he was 8. Ćorluka's professional career started in 2003 but during that season he didn't make an appearance for the first team. He was sent on loan to Inter Zaprešić and played one season for them, helping the team to 2nd place in the league, before returning to Dinamo Zagreb in 2005.

He also started to play for the Croatian under-21 team and came close to the country's full national side, for which he soon made his debut in the friendly match against world champions Italy on August 16, 2006 in Livorno, Italy. Croatia won the match 2-0 and Ćorluka, who entered the game in second half, satisfied critics with his very good, solid performance against experienced Serie A forwards.

He is a very tall football player (standing at 193 cm), but his main characteristic is very good coordination of movements, excellent technique and positioning. He is very comfortable with the ball. His height is also his great strength, especially during free-kicks and corners when he is very dangerous for opposing goalkeepers. Ćorluka has a reputation of being a highly intelligent player and often goes forward and plays as a right wingback on occasion.

Ćorluka was signed by Manchester City on 2 August 2007.[1][2]

Manchester City have not revealed the fee, but reports from Croatia say the deal is worth around ? million. The 21-year-old has penned a five-year deal.[3]

Dario Knežević (born April 20, 1982) is a Croatian football defender. He currently plays for Livorno in the Italian Serie A.

Born in Rijeka, he started his professional career with the city's First League side Rijeka in 2002 and subsequently made 115 appearances in the league before moving to Livorno on a three-year deal in late August 2006. He made his Serie A debut on October 25, 2006 in Livorno's 4-1 defeat to Inter and scored his first goal in the league against Cagliari on April 18, 2007 to secure his team a 2-1 victory.

He won 6 caps and scored one goal for the Croatian national team, making his debut as well as scoring his first international goal in a friendly match against Hong Kong on February 1, 2006. He is a regular part of Croatian team in qualifying matches for 2008 European Championship.

A9VG作为98年克罗地亚U18欧锦赛队与99年克罗地亚U20世青赛队成员，布丹入选国家队的时间来的晚了些。07年2月7日，他在克罗地亚与挪威的友谊赛中替补巴拉班登场，完成了他国家队的处子秀。

A9VG97年，布丹在他出生地的里耶卡成为了当地俱乐部的正式注册球员，99年世青赛后加盟了当时还在意甲的威尼斯队，之后连续两年被租借在外，没有得到过多的上场机会。02年加盟了乙级的巴勒莫，出场频率提高了不少，然而进球效率不是很高，一度被人们认为是一个动作僵硬的三流射手。06年，布丹的职业生涯迎来了转机，为了顶替转会曼城的科拉迪，他加盟了帕尔玛，立刻成为了帕尔玛的正印前锋并首次入选了国家队。

Hrvoje Vejić (born June 8, 1977) is a Croatian football defender, currently playing for FC Tom Tomsk. He has made one appearance for the Croatia national football team, against Norway in a friendly match on February 7, 2007. He also played four matches between 1998 and 1999 for the qualifying competition of the 2000 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship for his country's under-21 side.

In 1998 Vejić started his football career in the Croatian capital with NK Zagreb, where he played for three seasons. He then spent four seasons at Hajduk Split before moving to Russian side FC Tom Tomsk.

Ognjen Vukojević (born December 20, 1983 in Bjelovar) is a Croatian footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder. His current club is Dinamo Zagreb.

After youth years in local NK Bjelovar, Vukojević started his professional career at NK Slaven Belupo in 2003. He moved to Belgian side Lierse S.K. in 2005, but wasn't given a chance to prove his talent at the club and decided to return to Croatia in December 2005, signing with Dinamo Zagreb. He made his Dinamo debut against NK Međimurje in 2006. During the 2006-2007 season, he was able to secure himself a regular place in Dinamo's starting line-up.

In August 2007, he also earned himself his first call-up to the Croatian national team and made his international debut on 16 October 2007 in a friendly match against Slovakia. He also scored his first international goal on his debut, netting the second goal in Croatia's 3-0 victory.

Ognjen Vukojević is often nicknamed "Dinamo's Gattuso" because of his style of play.

In April 2008, Vukojević was linked with Scottish giants Celtic. [1]

Nikola Kalinić (born January 5, 1988) is a Croatian football striker, currently playing for Hajduk Split and the Croatia national football team. He has been described as the future of Croatian football my many.

He was a key player in the Croatian national under-21 team during his younger youth playing years. He is a true talent and one to be watched along with other fellow youngsters Ivo Iličević, Anas Sharbini and Mario Mandžukić. His abilities have earned him a place in Croatia's 23 man squad for the Euro 2008 tournament, commencing shortly.

As of 31 March 2008, he is rated first in the Prva HNL (Croatian First League) with 18 league goals and 25 in all competitions. He has since drawn comparisons to former fellow Croatian Davor Šuker for his respected scoring ability.

Pokrivač moved from the youth ranks of his home-town club NK Čakovec to those of Varteks Varaždin in the early 2000s and became a member of Varteks' first team for the 2004-2005 season, making his league debut against NK Zadar on 7 August 2004. He managed to establish himself as a regular at Varteks in 2005 and also represented the club in the UEFA Intertoto Cup in the summer of the same year as well as in the UEFA Cup qualifying a year later. In 2006, he also played for Varteks in the two-legged final of the Croatian Cup, where they lost to HNK Rijeka on away goals after a 5-5 draw on aggregate.

His good performances at Varteks eventually secured him a move to Croatia's top club Dinamo Zagreb in the winter break of the 2006-2007 season. He quickly became a regular at his new club and also helped them winning both the Croatian league and cup titles in 2007. He also represented Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League qualifying as well as in the UEFA Cup during the first half of the 2007-2008 season, making a total of 10 appearances in the two competitions.

On 30 January 2008, Pokrivač moved to French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco on a four-and-a-half-year contract. He made his league debut on 23 February 2008 in Monaco's 1-1 away draw at Paris Saint-Germain, playing the full 90 minutes. He continued to appear regularly for the club over the following two months, until being sent off with a straight red card in the final moments of the club's away match against OGC Nice on 19 April 2008.

Pokrivač has played for the Croatian under-21 national team and has also represented the country at both the under-17 and under-19 levels. He won a total of 39 international caps and scored three goals for all Croatian youth national teams between 2001 and 2006.[1]

On 5 May 2008, he received his first call-up to the Croatian national team at senior level, being added to their 23-man squad for the UEFA Euro 2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland.[2]
