We're seeing an even bigger shift in digital in 2024, and not a small one; it's a big one.
So far this year, looking specifically at games released this year, 75% of sales have come from digital, and 25% from physical. That's a 12% increase over 2023 (63% were digital).
For Xbox, so far in 2024, 81% of new game releases were digital (up 7% compared to 2023).
For PS5, 68% of new games are digital (up 11% compared to 2023).
For Switch (3rd party only) (FIFA and PoP are the biggest two this year): 39% of new releases were digital (down 1% compared to 2023).

没找到NPD的但是能找到欧洲的，XBOX数字销量8成，PS数字销量7成，任天堂数字销量4成
还是说只有北美的npd有参考价值，欧洲的GSD没有？

非常搞笑，找来找去。真的找不到他这65%哪里来的，但是在Circana（NPD）的Mat Piscatella发帖说索尼只需一代就可以完全转型为数字销售的文章下面的找到一个回复和他一样觉得索尼财报作假，用失眠泄漏推出索尼的数字销量真实只有35%的仁兄

Perhaps by then Digital will have taken over and it will be time. But don't solely believe the 70% Digital stat Sony pumps out in their investor documents, that is accross all games including Digital only titles, sales etc. so is heavily skewed.

However the Insomniac leak showed very different figures, for Sony's own first party AAA games it was 65% physical, the opposite way around. It seems that for full priced AAA games people still prefer physical over digital. It will only disappear if we let it. Don't.
