[360]微软：HDDVD的失败根本不会影响XBOX360的销路

The fall of the HD DVD has been rapid, leaving many wondering how it would affect sales of the PS3 and Xbox 360. Xbox 360 owners can currently watch HD movies through the Xbox Live Marketplace or in the flailing HD DVD format with an additional drive sold separately. PlayStation 3 owners get a Blu-ray player built in to their console. Microsoft believes the loss of one of its HD movie options won't affect the Xbox 360 at all and has released a statement in support of that theory.

"We do not believe the recent reports about HD DVD will have any material impact on the Xbox 360 platform or our position in the marketplace. As we've long stated, we believe it is games that sell consoles and Xbox 360 continues to have the largest next-gen games library with the most exclusives and best selling games in the industry. We will wait until we hear from Toshiba before announcing any specific plans around the Xbox 360 HD DVD player. HD DVD is one of the several ways we offer a high definition experience to consumers and we will continue to give consumers the choice to enjoy digital distribution of high definition movies and TV shows directly to their living room along with playback of the DVD movies they already own."

It looks like the ball is in Toshiba's court regarding any discontinuation of the Xbox 360 HD DVD player.

“关于最近的HDDVD的消息，我们不相信会对360造成任何实质的影响，我们的市场定位更不会改变。正如我们长久以来信念——游戏才是游戏机的根本所在，我们的360仍然将保持拥有次世代数量最多的，独占最多的，销量最好的游戏大军。“

”至于360的HDDVD外接设备的未来去向，我们还要与东芝进行商量后才能下决定。HDDVD，不过是我们向消费者提供的诸多体验高清的渠道之一而已。在未来我们会给与消费者更多的选择来享受数码高清时代的电影电视，同时DVD的功能也会保留“

目前来看，360的HDDVD外接设备的最终命运权掌握在了东芝手中。

不过上个月某机因为"缺货"连PS2都卖不过~~
我家附近的BB,EBgames连Wal-Mart通通都是货源充足！！
