多家媒体评测认为《战神》带有类银河战士恶魔城游戏特点

Alphr:
Much of Kratos’ adventure progresses linearly, but there are times where you are invited to explore the world’s nooks and crannies for side quests and extra challenges. In true Metroidvania style, there are many times on your adventure when paths can be opened only with tools acquired later on. God of War does a good job of teasing you with these blocked areas, encouraging re-exploration between quests. Even more impressive is how the game builds on this by revealing deeper layers to familiar areas throughout the story. It gives the map a sense of depth, although you’ll occasionally have to suspend your disbelief about why Kratos is unable to leap over a knee-high rock to access cut-off rewards. Seriously. The man can kill a troll but he can’t climb a moderately sized boulder.

Playstation Universe:
As their powers expand, the journey winds back-and-forth, layering upon itself in Metroidvania fashion. Streamlined RPG systems give us stats to monitor, skill trees to climb, and upgrades to pursue without needless complexity.

Techradar:
In true Metroidvania fashion, certain areas, items and pathways are initially blocked off to Kratos and son, opening up only after you've unlocked the requisite new ability or weapon which allows you to break through previously unbreakable barriers.

Gamereactor UK:
God of War also includes some elements in the Metroidvania vain, in the sense that it involves backtracking. As you unlock new skills and abilities, you'll be able to gain access to areas or objects that you have not been able to reach before. Eventually, you can also access an instant travel system, although it's not fully available until much later in the game.

Telegraph.co.uk:
From here you can take a row-boat across Midgard, before eventually travelling between realms entirely. Areas are gated off in a familiar Metroidvania style, by glowering red crystals or angry looking hell brambles, waiting to be discovered as you uncover more gear or elemental powers for Atreus’ bow. The elegant simplicity of the narrative plays its part here. While it is liberal with its thrills and peril, particularly as Odin and the deities of Asgard start to pay attention to Kratos’ escapades, the nature of your quest gives plenty of room to explore.

Metro:
There’s more than a touch of Metroidvania to this new God Of War, and while the landscapes are a lot smaller and more constrained than they first appear – thanks to the stunning visuals – exploration is still a key element and extremely rewarding given the wide range of genuinely useful items you can come across.
