Now there is very little left to say and the rumblings after the defeat in Eindhoven which suggested that something was not working despite the win over Juventus can be finally quitened. Carlo Ancelotti’s side proved they possess the desire, determination and ability to thrill in equal measure. Juventus and Udinese were two decisive tests which the team passed with flying colours, stepping up a gear when called upon by Ancelotti who has been putting all his motivational skills to the fore to encourage the players to believe in their undoubted ability. A lot had been said after the Juventus encounter and no doubt that will be repeated after the win over Udinese. This was a performance full of positives, at the start of the season it was thought that only Andrea Pirlo could act as the focal point in the build-up but both Clarence Seedorf and Serginho are now stepping up when called upon. The wide men are beginning to leave their mark as they did at Empoli and once again against Udinese. Alberto Gilardino, for one, has benefited from this service. The young striker had yet to score at home, with each of his five goals coming away from the San Siro but after netting a brace on Sunday that duck has been broken. This will be seen as a springboard for Gila who now has the full backing of the home fans and can only go from strength-to-strength. Milan have taken flight and there should be no stopping them now.

Gilardino Invites Milan To Keep On Winning

The Italian international finally scored his first goals in front of his own home crowd.

Alberto Gilardino paved the way for a memorable Milan win over Udinese on Sunday afternoon, as the Rossoneri crushed their opponents 5-1 at San Siro. The former Parma striker scored a brace which gave Milan its 8th consecutive league win.

“I’m really happy, but it was more important to win. We must just think about doing well and winning each game, then we shall see in May what will happen."

Gilardino also praised his attacking partner Inzaghi.

“Also Pippo today played a great match. Even though he did not score, he worked for the team and gave me a great ball on the goal. He was really important.”

MILAN - Alberto Gilardino, who scored twice, expressed his joy at the end of Milan-Udinese: ‘I am happy because we played well, we were determined and solid. These two goals at the San Siro arrived at the best time. I am doing well physically and mentally. I am trying diffi*** things on the field and they are going well. I had a diffi*** start to the season with Parma as well, after the Olympics, but then the goals always came. It’s true that a striker lives to score, but the most important thing is always the team’s performance.’ Then a special dedication on his first goals at the San Sir ‘Today’s double is for all the fans that have supported me and especially for my city’s Milan Club, Biella. Ancelotti also paid his compliments to me and the whole team.’ On the duel with Juve, Gila warned: ‘The competition is open. They are going strongly, but we aren’t messing around either. We’ll see what happens in May…’

Milan turned in a five-star performance in front of the San Siro fans for their eighth consecutive Serie A win. Coach Carlo Ancelotti’s side followed up their win over Juventus with another spectacular dispay as five goals flew into the Udinese net. The Rossoneri raced into a three-nil lead in the first half, with goals from Alberto Gilardino - his first for the club at home, Clarence Seedorf and Andrea Pirlo. Gilardino scored his second soon after the break before Vincenzo Iaquinta pulled a goal back for the visitors from the penalty spot. Kakà then put further gloss on the result, with a fifth on 77 minutes. With Marcos Cafu and Serginho causing constant problems down the flank, the defeat at Eindhoven was consigned to the history books and Milan can now look forward to the trip to Fiorentina with ever-growing confidence.
