Sometimes we're accused of being jaded old cynical hacks. Words like that make us cry inside. But we respond with disappointment because of so many broken promises and dreams thrashed, trashed, and left to wilt by the side of the road.
But then along comes something that makes us quiver with excitement. This is the real thing. It's next gen. And you have to see it to believe it. Check out this video shot by Finland's leading videogames magazine Pelaaja at a recent press event for Project Gotham Racing 3.

Even on a handicam, shot a little too dark, it's pretty amazing. Note the incredible detail that nears photo-realistic perfection. The way the light dances off the dashboard. The images scattering across the rear and side-view mirrors.

This - this is the sort of thing that makes us cry for other reasons. Because we can believe again. This time the promises are real.

Can't wait.
