Nintendo Buys Supermario4.com Web Domain

An intriguing choice, yes?

The news that Nintendo recently purchased a Mario related web domain is not always interesting, especially as big companies often buy web addresses just to prevent others using them. When we saw that supermario4.com was a recent acquisition for Nintendo, however, we were definitely intrigued.

It may be rampant speculation, but the specific choice of this URL strikes us as a potential early spoiler: it's important to note that Nintendo hasn't purchased other numbered variations for the same domain name. With Nintendo already announcing a 2D Super Mario title for 3DS, perhaps this could be a sequel to the NES classic Super Mario Bros. 3? With Sega recently providing a direct sequel to an iconic 1990s title with Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, it's not an idea without precedent.

That's speculation, but it's a fact that Nintendo has purchased supermario4.com. Do you think it could be related to the already announced 3DS Super Mario game, or potentially another project? If there is a Super Mario Bros. 4, what kind of game would you like it to be?

大意就是先前任天堂曾經公布過將會有一款2D的馬力歐系列相關作品登陸3DS,隨著這個域名被註冊,是否說明接下來3DS的2D馬力歐將會是超級瑪利歐4?

P.S.個人記得超級瑪利歐4是世界,難道是世界的重製版本?
