Insomniac Games has revealed the first details of the Brutality Pack for the PlayStation 3 shooter Resistance 3 as well as shown off some of the footage from the game. The Brutality Pack will feature a new mode, a new weapon (The Sledgehammer), and soundtrack from the metal band Mastodon. The pack will be out tomorrow.

"The point of the DLC is to survive, essentially; to survive against this ongoing onslaught of Grims." says Ted Price, CEO and Founder of Insomniac Games.
The DLC's location will be familiar to those who have played Resistance 3's multiplayer. "We set it in Wales," Price says, "But we've made it a little bit darker than what you'll see in the multiplayer version of Wales."
To get the player's really feeling the game, the Brutality Pack features seven songs from Mastodon: Three tracks from The Hunter, two instrumental versions of songs from Blood Mountain, and two bonus songs from the deluxe version of The Hunter. According to the band, The Brutality pack was inspired by Mastodon's lifestyle.
"What they did was, they came to where we lived and saw how we lived, slitting throats and carrying axes... we licensed it out to them," said Brent Hinds, Mastodon's guitarist.

Brutality is expected on the PlayStation Network with this week’s update, which usually hits on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday depending on your territory.
The pack, which was teased last week, brings a new gameplay mode, a new weapon – and music by Metal band Mastodon, five tracks from The Hunter and two instrumentals from Blood Mountain.
The new mode is set in Wales – a nastier version than the standard map – and has players fighting off Hordes of Grims. See what I did there? |
