RUMOR: Use IDE HDD with PSTwo consoles?!


We received word via e-mail today of a RUMOR that an anonymous coder known only as automan has got a standard IDE HDD working with the PSTwo v12 console. Up until now, the only way of accomplishing this was through the upcoming (in final debug stage now, release pending) U**-Loader using an external U** HDD. Although quite vague, according to automan his method is is done "via a combination of hardware and software modifications."

However, automan also states that "it is not released yet, nor it will not be publically released in future. If we ever see this method to be available, it will be done either by a team that will join me in order to manufacture this discovery, or by someone kind enough to develop a free solution for all us PSTwo owners." PSTWO接普通的IDE硬盘了,如果真的可行的话,就解决的U**硬盘传输速度的问题. 但是想必这个要真弄起来比较麻烦,PSTWO没有IDE接口,靠手工焊接的话,一般的玩家是很难办到的. 这图基本看不清楚他接线的方式,所以是持观望态度的好,别一口断定什么. 这次只是一张图片,英文没什么特别有价值的内容,有兴趣的自己看看好了.

如果成功5W机型和网卡炒货就不会如此疯狂了，希望所有的ps2用户都能HDL爽一把，包括7W用户。
