Iso suport on TN Hen?
Although Total_Noob has no plan on implementing iso support in his Hen (at least in the first release), there is no question that many crackers will work on the subject as soon as the Hen is released. The question is not “will it happen?” but “who will be the first team/hacker to provide iso support on 6.20 and on the PSP Go?”. All eyes are turned on Team Gen, but so far the 6.20 Gen looks reminds me of Duke Nukem Forever, so there’s no guarantee that Team Gen will be working on the new firmwares at all.
However, other hackers already stated they would be working on “enhancing the experience” of the Hen, specifically mentioning iso loading.
Liquidzigong, famous for the recent prometheus modules, announced yesterday that he would be working on iso loading as soon as the Hen is released. There’s no doubt that he has the skills for that.Update: it seems a user has been playing a trick on me here, apologies for that. I’ll wait for liquidzigong’s
official reply on that.
Dridri85 on the pspgen forums also said he has a “work in progress” iso loader. I can confirm that, since he was working on this iso loader initially for the HBL, but got stuck when he confirmed that kernel access was needed. For those interested, we retrieved his post from the old HBL forums, and added it to the new Hacking forums here on wololo.net. His post contains source code for a working POC of an iso loader. You can check it here.
So, independently of the ethics or hackers’ personal goals, iso loading IS going to happen on the new firmwares, the question is when, and who will be the one providing this feature first.
On a related subject, Total_Noob told me yesterday that he added a “region faking” feature on his Hen, which will allow people to get the cool “TV” icon we get in Japan I assume this also allows to play import UMDs, always a nice-to-have feature (did I mention how much I hate region locking?)
TN HEN支持ISO？
尽管Total_Noob不打算在他的HEN上(至少是第一次发布时)实现对ISO的支持，不过有一点毫无疑问：HEN一放出，很多黑客们就会在这个项目上进行开发。问题不是“它会发生吗？”，而是“谁将会成为第一个开发出6.20和PSP Go上支持iso程序的破解团队或个人？”所有人都注视着Gen小组，不过目前为止6.20Gen的状况让我想起了“永远的毁灭公爵(一个java游戏)”，所以Gen小组是否会在这个新的固件上进行开发，这点毫无保证。

在一个相关的项目上，Total_Noob 昨天告诉我他在HEN上添加了“地区欺骗”功能，这可以让人们在psp上获得在日本地区能得到的超酷的“TV”图标，我猜想这也会允许你运行进口UMD，这总是一个“有了会更好”的功能(我有没有提过我多讨厌地区锁定？). |
