Community member Aquashark has fused two different control methods together with his new Keyboard/Arcade Stick hybrid. Remember the Control Pad/Arcade Stick hybrid we saw last month? Well Shoryuken's amazing modders are just not content to choose between their favorite methods of control, instead choosing to combine them. From Aquashark;
"I always thought "keystick" is an improper name, since there's no stick and you actually try to mimmick a keyboard. So there it is.. my arcade keyboard:
Ingredients:
- 1 x HRAP3
- 1 x custom HRAP3 faceplate ordered and bought from arcadeforge.de
- 4 x square buttons (SANWA OBSF-24KK) for directions
- 8 x wires with clamps on both ends (2 for each directional button)
I would've liked to make a video tutorial with the assembly, but I didn't have a very good camera to record with. The process was really easy though...
1. I removed the restrictor and the stick, but I kept the PCB with the microswitches.
2. Each microswitch connects to the PCB with 2 metal bars (example) onto which I clamped the wires.
That's it. No soldering, no messing with electronics at all."
