Quick Analysis
In a short series, anything can happen. The winner is usually whichever team manages to stay hot.
While the Eagles have lost Linden, they still do have a shot at beating the Hawks. When Matsunaka was removed from the active roster, I thought it gave the Eagles an advantage. That advantage, of course, disappeared when Linden was taken off the active roster.
Starting pitching is still the Eagles' strong point, but the bullpen is another matter. In a short series, the bullpen likely won't come into play as much as I'm sure Nomura will try to stretch out the starters as much as possible.
I think these two teams might actually be fairly even matched. The biggest differences might actually be in the pen. And if this were a longer series, then I might actually have to give the advantage to the Hawks. But as is, I give the Eagles a slight edge over the Hawks because they seem to find different ways to win.
But there's a lot of stuff going on in the peripherals for the Eagles and the big question will be if they can remain focused. If not, the Hawks may end winning the series. |
