这首歌最初是英国的Mike Oldfield创作的，很多网上的资料都说这首歌是纪念被枪杀的John Lennon
On December 8th 1980, in front of the Dakota, a supposed fan, Mark David Chapman, fired five shots, hitting John in the chest. By the time he arrived at the hospital, John Lennon was dead.
1980年12月8日，马克·查普曼伪装成一个歌迷，在列侬的公寓旁边徘徊了很久。那天晚上，当列侬从录音棚返回家中的时候，查普曼请列侬在他的签字本上签名。当时他内心曾进行过激烈的斗争，但最后仍然举起***朝着列侬的后背连开了5枪。
和Moonlight Shadow中所写的He was shot six times by a man on the run倒是有点类似
