Aside from price differences between Essential & upper tier,why do we also have to pay back the discounted amount we've got in the past,when upgrading our membership?

Or is this just a thing for Asia region?

And remaining days of membership must be upgraded at once?How absurd.

1. No matter how many days of ur PS+ Essential remain, if u choose to upgrade, u have to upgrade them all. There's no option for u to decide how many days u wanna upgrade.

2. If u got ur PS Essential at a discount, and u wanna upgrade it, u have to pay the discount + difference between Essential and Extra/Deluxe.

3. There r only about 240 games for Extra and 280 games for Deluxe. (Some games r counted more than once, e.g. AC Valhalla is counted twice, one for PS4 version, and one for PS5 version, which means after removing duplicate games, the number could be even smaller)

4. With 1 and 2 combined, if someone subscribed many years of PS Essential at a discount, and they wanna upgrade it, the price could be ... unaffordable. I've seen ppl post their screenshots showing the price could be 8000 HKD or so.
