Armour question

hi all, i am just wondering if i want to upgrade my 雌火armour to S....is it required for me to upgrade it to lvl 4 first before they offer me the choice of U and S??? ( my 雌火 armour is currently lvl 3).....but for my 砂龙 armour....they already gave me the choice for U, S, and lvl 4...

and whats the percentage of getting 黒鎧竜の頭殻??? i need it for my hammer
i need it to fight the "thunder horse"....or can someone advice me on what other weapon should i use to fight it?? cuz i dont really want to waste all my 红莲石  .

you only have to upgrade it to lv3 for the u/s choice. you can't see it because you haven't got some crucial materials such as 雌火龙的棘

the probability is only 4% and for the Kylin you just need a hammer with a high value of physical attack

i think i still have one 雌火龙的棘 in my inventory...not quite sure, i need to double  check when i get home =P
but for my 砂龙 armour, i dont even have the 砂竜の桃ヒレ...then how come i can view the alternate armour choice?

for the S:
雌火竜の甲殻: 2
雌火竜の棘: 1
ドスゲネポスの皮: 1
ドラグライト鉱石: 1

for the 桜火(another choice)
桜火竜の鱗: 2
桜火竜の甲殻: 1
ドスゲネポスの皮: 1
ドラグライト鉱石: 1

you can see 砂龙U at lv3 without the material called 砂竜の桃ヒレ maybe because it's not a crucial one^^
