MGS5: GROUND ZEROES SHIPS 1 MILLION COPIES

Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has shipped 1 million copies.
The 1 million figure refers to how many physical copies were sent to retailers - not copies that are actually sold - and it doesn't take into account digital downloads. For those reasons, it's unclear as to how many copies of Ground Zeroes were actually purchased.
Ground Zeroes is the predecessor to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, for which a release date has not been announced but is expected sometime next year. Ground Zeroes' rather short running time combined with it's $30 USD price tag caused some controversy, leading series creator Hideo Kojima to defend the title.
News of the shipped numbers comes with the announcement that the formerly platform-exclusive DLC for Ground Zeroes will be available for all on May 1.
