THE WARRIOR
King of a peaceful people who were besieged by violence on all sides, the king made himself and a small number of his people instruments of war so that the rest of his people would not have to suffer the touch of conflict. However, the number of his enemies was great and his force small. As the king faced destruction, he heard Ahriman’s voice offering his people salvation in return for his soul. The king accepted Ahriman’s offer and became an invincible killing machine, having defeated the attacking forces, the Warrior realised that he could not return to his people. He had become everything they rejected, corrupted, feeling the need to revel in destruction, the king left his people, fearing for their safety. Owned by Ahriman, he entered the god’s service fighting as his arm of steel.
THE CONCUBINE
The Concubine fell in love with a man who did not love her in return. Refusing to accept the truth she tried everything she could to woo him, to seduce him, offering him promises, gifts and her honour to him, so obsessed was she with having him. When finally he tired of her attention and rejected her she was devastated. Unable to accept that she could not be what he wanted, the Concubine called out for a way to become the kind of woman he would love.
Ahriman, hearing her pleas, gave her the ability to shift her shape, to become whatever she wanted so that she could revisit her love and tempt him in different forms, however, she could never keep her form for long and was always forced to leave her lover each night, to become another woman and begin the process of seduction all over again. The further she traveled from herself, the less she remembered of who she had been until all she was left with were feelings of loss, love, lust and rejection.. |
